Dear Crazy,
So today, I get this message while opening my outlook today, I was like…What the heck is going on? I just recently did a fresh install of Window 7 64-bit and the darn thing not going to work? I just freaked -
I got this message and wondered what is that?
So like a geek like me, I always Google the issues I have and most of the time – I will get the results I am wanting. Lucky me – It was a simple fix.
Here’s how to reset your Outlook Navigation Panels
Start -> Run -> Outlook /resetnavpane
So If that don’t work – the post suggest to re-create your profile.
For many readers here know that we are almost living a web 2.0 life. I remeber the days where webpages were static and php/asp scripted pages were never exisited or when you must type www. before the domain. Time has flown and I am forced to move on with this technology or stand dry from it!
I can just see my former employers just look at Facebook or Twitter and think….its no good for my business. As I keep pondering thoughts about social media and media it self I stop questioning it as a bad thing.
1. Marketting style: Viral …. If your good your real and we want a real good company not because we say we are real good but your users will say your really good.
2. Volume – Where can you can literally meet millions of people?
3. Countable – Do you want to be a Company that stands for very long time? The way you treat your employees to the way you treat your consumers is shown through Social media.
Viral is cheap or even free. Why pump your money in TV ads while everyone your trying to reach is not watching TV? Can you just Imagine a person signing to a group of people that are blind?
I really believe that social networking can have good results for your business. I do want to mention though that what we do or say on the Internet has a greater profound impact then what we do and say in our daily lives. You know how important that is right?
I am tired tonight after spend fury amount of time of anti-spam and other alike for my comany’s mail server. We are using SME 7.xx… it a linux based solution and a varient of CentOS. It works fairly decent and not a whole of issues to complain about. I am assuming that most “home grown” web / mail servers deal with alot of “spam issues”. I relize that thier is no 100% spam proof filtering system but there is some preventive pratices that you can do to reduce the amount of spam.
Here are SOME tips that can help reduce the amount of spam:
1. If you give out your email address out (to unknown sources) your likely to get spammed.
2. Forwarding Mail: Don’t recieve or send Forwards they might contain bots that harvest email accounts (like yours).
3. When posting your Email address online. Use human logic not computer logic. yourname@domain.com can be harvested by the way it delimited. use something similar like this: yourname {atsign} domain [dot} com.
4. Signing up / Forums: If you sign up for forums or freebies. Use a “spam account”. use gmail or other free account services.
5. Setting your email address: use something that is easy to remember but not easy to make up. Spammers use a techiques of probility. using common names such as hottiegrlchick@some-domain.com
6. Changing your password often or use a strong password. that is aleast 8 charaters long and using numbers, letters and non-letter/numbers.
Hope some of these tips help you along your journey in inter-space
